CarTube Privacy Policy

This policy covers CarTube: Video & Navigation (iOS bundle ID com.ronailabs.carscreenmirror), provided by Mahmut Yüce under the Ronai Labs / Ronaillabs brand. It describes the current app, including optional features. Contact: [email protected].

1. Media and screen capture

With your Photos permission, CarTube displays videos in the library you allow (selected items or your full library) and plays the video you choose. Files you select may be temporarily copied into app storage. Media processing occurs on your device; CarTube does not upload your library to a Ronai Labs server. iCloud-hosted items may be downloaded through Apple when you select them.

You can open your own stream or M3U playlist URL. Requests go to the content provider, which can receive your IP address, requested URL and any credentials included in that URL. Provider privacy policies apply. When you choose AirPlay or a supported external display, the selected media is delivered through Apple's playback services to that display.

The experimental ReplayKit feature starts only after you initiate the system broadcast. Screen frames may contain personal information visible on your phone. The current implementation stores a latest-frame image and broadcast status in a shared on-device app container for preview; it does not upload a screen recording to our servers. Audio and microphone samples are not processed by this feature. The frame is cleared when broadcasting pauses or stops normally; interrupted sessions may leave a local cached frame until a later cleanup or app removal. Stop a broadcast using iOS controls.

2. Location and maps

If you grant location permission, CarTube uses location, speed and direction for GPS dials and route features. Apple MapKit processes map searches, destinations and route requests, including coordinates when used to calculate a route. We do not operate a server collecting your location history. You can revoke location access in iOS Settings; location-dependent features will then be limited.

When you request nearby charging stations, Open Charge Map receives the coordinates used for the search and your IP address. Apple MapKit is used as a fallback. When you open Weather, MET Norway receives coordinates rounded to three decimal places and your IP address to return a forecast. These are user-requested network features; CarTube does not continuously upload your driving history to these providers. These providers may retain IP addresses and requested coordinates in server logs according to their own retention and privacy policies.

CarTube stores the latest 40 drive summaries locally, including times, distance and speed statistics. Saving a parking location stores that location on your device. Older drive summaries are replaced as new drives are recorded. These local records are not sent to a Ronai Labs server.

3. Purchases

Apple processes payments; we do not receive your full payment card details. RevenueCat processes an app user identifier, transaction and purchase history, subscription status, product identifiers, app/device information and associated technical request data to validate, restore and manage Premium access. The app does not require a separate CarTube account. RevenueCat uses an app-generated identifier for purchase access.

4. Advertising and consent

The free version uses Google AdMob banner and app-open ads. Google services may process IP address (including approximate location inferred from it), device/app identifiers, ad interactions and diagnostics for ad delivery, measurement, security and fraud prevention. The app does not provide your GPS coordinates or media library to AdMob. Advertising requests are gated by Google User Messaging Platform consent status. Publisher first-party ID and publisher privacy personalization are disabled in our integration. We do not request Apple's tracking permission in the current app.

Where available, use Settings → advertising privacy preferences to review consent. Device privacy settings also apply. Premium prevents loading and displaying the app's ads; it does not remove advertising embedded in third-party content or erase provider records of earlier use.

5. Providers and purposes

• Apple Privacy Policy — distribution, payments, Photos/iCloud, maps and external playback.
• Google Privacy Policy — advertising, consent, measurement and security.
• RevenueCat Privacy Policy — purchase validation and entitlement management.
• Open Charge Map — nearby charging station searches.
• MET Norway — requested weather forecasts.
• Your chosen stream providers — content delivery under their own policies.

We use data to provide requested features and purchases, remember local preferences, respond to support requests, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations. Where applicable, processing relies on performance of the requested service, consent for optional permissions or advertising where required, legal obligations, and legitimate interests such as service security and support. Providers may process data outside your country under their applicable safeguards.

6. Storage, retention and security

Language, appearance, dial selection and onboarding preferences are stored locally. Imported personal audio files, saved media URLs, favorites and playback positions are stored locally until removed in the app or the app is deleted. Temporary playback files are removed when playback is stopped by the app; operating-system caches and backups follow Apple settings. Purchase and advertising records are retained according to provider policies and necessary accounting, fraud-prevention and legal requirements. Support messages are kept as needed to resolve the request and applicable legal obligations. We use platform access controls and HTTPS for network requests; no system is absolutely secure.

7. Your choices and requests

Manage Photos and Location permissions in iOS Settings. Removing the app deletes its local app data subject to Apple's backup and shared-container behavior; it does not cancel subscriptions. Manage subscriptions through your Apple account. To request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to processing where applicable, email [email protected] with “CarTube privacy request”. We may need reasonable verification and may retain legally required records. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. There is no separate CarTube account to delete.

8. Children and updates

CarTube is not directed to children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information. We update this page when features or data practices change and identify the revision date above.
